Colindale Marine Services is boat repair, service and chartering company based out of Port Hood, Nova Scotia in Colindale owned and operated by Brett Robinson. It is a second generation business of Colindale Boatyard, which built and repaired several Cape Islanders through the 1980s-1990s then build several two engine jet boats into the 2000s. Brett's step father, Peter Boulton settled in Colindale in the 1970s, beginning farming, then lobster fishing and built his first boat, 'Midnight Star' in 1986 and soon went into business as his neighbours, friends and fishing buddies asked for boats to be built and repaired.
Brett spent many of his early years, building and repairing boats with Peter, as well fishing and sailing. He left on a world voyage aboard the tall ship, 'Picton Castle' when he was 18 years old as a sail trainee and earned his keep aboard as the 2nd engineer. This was followed by signing aboard the sloop "Clearwater," and schooners "Westward" and "Spirit of Massachusetts" as deckhand/engineer for sail training missions around the eastern seaboard and Caribbean. After "swallowing the anchor" and returning to land; Brett completed a Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma at NSCC, a Bachelor of Technology at Memorial University and a Construction Safety Supervisor's Certificate at the Nova Scotia Construction Association. From 2010-2018 Brett worked the construction industry in heavy civil and marine construction to further advance his project management and supervisory skills.
Colindale Marine Services aims to carry on the tradition of boat building, repair and service that is built in Colindale. We are: "Your Local Boatyard"
